It seems we have another brand to come out of the woodwork, heh heh, bad pun. 42 Surfboards out of Hood River oregon is a new surboard brand making wood boards. His fishies look like they got some inspiration from Danny Hess in SF.
Also Grain Surfboards started using bamboo fabric instead of fiberglass, we are really interested in hearing what they have to say about how it works. One step closer to green.

Thanks Wend.
Just thought I’d note that 42′s boards and blanks are shaped from solid wood. All local, of course. We don’t build our boards from skins and skeletons like Hess and Grain. Instead, we build in them the old-school way, by chambering the wood blanks. And although I don’t at all mind the comparison to Danny’s boards, our chambered wood fishes are based on the original Lis Fish designs from the early 1970′s.
All the best,
Lars Bergstrom
