All National Park Service sites waive entrance fees.

When:

This weekend, September 27th – September 28th.

Where:

All U.S. National Parks (including all 391 units of the National Park Service sites).

Why:

The fee-free weekend will commemorate the 15th annual National Public Lands Day (September 27th) and pay tribute to newly naturalized citizens (September 28th).

According to a press release sent out by the National Park Service, 147 of the country’s 391 National Park Service sites charge entrance fees ranging from $3 to $25. The other 244 areas do not have entrance fees. Even if the parks closest to your house are free anyway, get out and do something this weekend.
