In an attempt to become the first woman to skydive over the world’s highest peak, Holly Budge will soon be making a parachute jump over Mount Everest. According to Reuters, She plans to jump from 465 feet above Everest and fly right by it before landing in a mountain meadow at 12,350 feet. Ummm… crazy??? Maybe a little.

Budge says she’s “excited, confident, scared, all in one.” That seems understandable. Since she’s jumping from such high heights, she will be wearing an oxygen mask and using a parachute that is much larger than normal to compensate for the faster descent which comes from the thinner air at that altitude. I guess that makes her the first person to “descend” the mountain without going up it…
