Fourth Grader Climbs More Mountains Than You

evan-whitmore

Last year third-grader Evan Whitemyer from Massachusetts set out to climb ten 4,000-foot peaks to raise money for his school. Now that the nine year old has finished his 9th and 10th summits, adults around the country are wondering if there just might be a chance for the Me generation after all. Whitemyer succeeded in raising $5,120 for South Shore Charter Public School in Norwell, Mass. to help the school be more green.

Do the country a favor and make it a personal goal to pull at least five kids away from the television and show them his blog this week. Be sure to leave the young explorer a few words of congratulations too.
