If you haven’t been following the Riding the Spine adventure, you should be. It’s an adventure of epic proportions taking three guys from Alaska all the way through North America and into South America. We ran a story by them featuring their trip last year, and we’re regular followers of their blog.
The guys have currently cycled an impressive 19,500 kilometers, but after running out of money in Panama they returned home to raise some funds. Now they’re attempting to make their way into South America, but not by bike, by kayak!
Being the crafty crew that they are, the guys rigged their kayaks to hold their bikes and made their way 500 nautical miles to Colombia. They’ve arrived with plenty of stories — including being ambushed by a Kuna police squad complete with a guy in a ski mask and a semi-automatic rifle — and lots of sweet pictures.
