I'm tempted to liken your ability to catch cyclocross unawares and write it down so ruthlessly to the great abilities of writers like Tim Krabbé, Paul Fournel, Major Taylor, and Graeme Fife. If you just wrote about how "great" it is and "how much fun" you had, nobody would read it. Log those suffering miles! Essay away! I'm so glad there's a lady voice, aloud, to show that even though women can't ultimately race as fast, we try and suffer the same. Fantastic work, Heidi!
