It’s time to kick off 2009 and what better way than a month long Friday Photo contest devoted to alternative transportation? In conjunction with our travel writing contest on iWend, all of January’s Friday Photos will feature some type of alternative transportation — no fossil fuels required! Today’s comes from Alan Barnard who snapped this photo on his commute home. Barnard points out that his daily 60-mile round trip commute is “split between cycling, the Amtrak train and walking; a true multi-modal trip.” That’s the Wend spirit!
