Sooner or later you or someone you know will have to make a decision about what to do with your corpse once you finally kick the bucket. Although it might be difficult to imagine life going on without you in it, odds are most of the world won’t skip a beat when you pass. So instead of forking out thousands of dollars for a velvet-lined, brass-studded coffin, why not embrace the inevitable and arrange to lay down for your final rest in a coffin that is just as biodegradable as you are?
Luyan, a Chinese weaving and wickerworks company, helps clients be as green in death as they are in life by offering a variety of “green coffins”. Some of the products you will find in Luyan’s line: natural willow caskets, woven bamboo coffins, corn skin coffins, sea grass coffins, wicker urns and eco paulownia coffins.
The company realizes that humans aren’t the only ones who deserve a deep green sleep. They also wicker pet coffins, pet urns, and wooden pet caskets.

How about actually being green, and instead being cremated (and further, scattered, thus becoming fertilizer, or at least giving back ;-) You know instead of taking up space, and requiring maintenance for your rotting corpse (yes, clearly, my beliefs don’t lead me to feel your dead chunk of flesh provides any lasting value).
