I’m psyched on Wend Ambassador Liz Clark’s new post up on iWend (For those of you who don’t know Liz, check out her blog– she’s been at sea for a couple of years on her way around the world and she blogs about her travels once a week via satellite. She also writes for us in the print magazine as well.) Anyhoo, She’s been doing a major overhaul of her 40 foot Cal, Swell, for several months. Working non-stop in dry dock in Tahiti, Liz is giving her ship a nice little face lift which will make Swell ready for the next big push to New Zealand. If you ever have romantic fantasies of sailing around the world, this first picture might give you some pause:

Yes, the reality of owning a sailboat means WORK. But the payoff is sweet, especially when you’re off to surf waves never before ridden. Luckily, Liz is a good friend and when I follow in her wake a few years from now, I’m going to get the GPS coordinates for the best waves in the world. Here’s the brand new Swell, ready for the rest of the world. Cheers Liz, good work.
