Forget Walking, Explore Rajasthan With India’s First Zipline
Ziplines aren’t just for tropical, rainforest destinations anymore. Now you can use them to explore history and culture as well, at least in India where the country’s first ever zipline takes you through past kings and customs, droughts and battles all while zipping through the five lines. According to the Guardian’s Beatrice Newberry, “It’s like history with an adrenalin sweetener.”
The zipline, with the zippy name Flying Fox, is based at Neemrana Fort Palace, one of India’s oldest heritage hotels. During the two hour adventure, you’ll not only get guides to make sure you don’t fall out of your harness above the fort landscapes of Rajasthan, but who will also give you tidbits on the history, ecology and culture of Neemrana. Apparently when it comes to learning about history, museum visits are out and thrilling adventures are in.
Check out the Flying Fox website where there’s also a pretty entertaining video of the Indian zipline experience.
