dean-solo-at-taft-point-5332

Here at Wend we have a new found love of slacklining, but you’ll probably never see us high-lining anything like this… Dean Potter recently did this 100 ft. solo walk on a highline in Yosemite National Park. That means walking across a thin piece of webbing hanging in the air 1,000 ft. above the ground, which to us is crazy. Apparently, he walked with a tether several times and then decided to go solo. Unleashed. Second Chance-less. Is this stupid? Is this sublime? I don’t know. After watching the yogaslackers in action, it doesn’t seem so stupid. Control is control. Yeah, I’d fall in a second. But Dean Potter? Nah. He’s one of the best in the world. And do you think he wants to die? Definitely not. Risk is relative.

More pics and a lot of heated debate about this stroll over at the prAna blog.
