Grow Mine? No Thanks.

2352363465_ba98f8a7bf_oAh yes, summertime in Oregon. Most of us gladly soak up the rays, excited to trade them for the nagging downpour that seems to haunt us the rest of the year. And yet, when it finally gets hot out, many of us flock directly to the water — that is, those of us who don’t mind sporting a swimsuit.

According to Dr. Sherrill Sellman, a naturopath and women’s health specialist who cites a study by Fitness magazine, “50 percent of women have turned down invitations that required wearing a swimsuit.” From this, Sellman has deduced that in light of an increased rate of breast augmentation since the year 2008, women are opting out of wearing swimsuits simply because their breasts just aren’t up to par.

“It’s bad enough that the media encourages the national obsession with a woman’s bra size, but to know that hundreds or thousands of women every year are having risky elective surgery because of that cultural eccentricity is alarming,”said Dr. Sellman.

This “cultural eccentricity” has surely sparked Sellman’s interests, however, and she is banking on it to promote her “natural alternative to surgery,”otherwise known as the Grow Yours enhancement process. Rather than promoting body image acceptance, Sellman is encouraging any woman with chest discontent to take matters into her own glands — I mean hands, by going to growyours.com and buying a subscription for just $149 dollars– for the first six months.

The “process” involves targeted exercises that trick the body into thinking that milk (yes, as in, mother’s milk) is required. When the body picks up on this signal, it creates “genetically correct” hormones, which cause lobes, (milk glands), to grow larger. And bam!! Your chest is bigger. Swimsuit, here you come.

Sellman is careful to note that through the Grow Yours process, you can literally control your breast size. And she argues that once you’ve started the process, it can be maintained daily via online suggestions, such as, “you can do it anywhere in the world, even when traveling.”

OK, Mrs. Sellman, this is where we draw the line. Growing ours was weird to begin with, but when you start suggesting we stop in the middle of our travel adventures to work on our breasts, you start getting personal. No one should be more focused on her cup size than her travel, ever. And if you are more interested in your chest size than your trip, then you’re certainly not a Wend fan!
