Originally, I hail from Mineapolis/St. Paul and am glad to be away from the harsh winters I endured there throughout my youth. But despite bone chilling cold, the cycling community in the Twin Cities is massive, and the culture exquisite. Alley Cat/Messenger races have become more and more prominent in cycling sub-cultures across the country, but not so much in Minneapolis, because it’s hard to attract riders to races in a frozen land. Especially when they take place the third week of January. To put this in perspective, in January 1991, my senior year of high school, it didn’t get above zero fahrenheit the entire month. But, the cold doesn’t stop the hearty riders of the Midwest. Below is a short trailer of a film on the Stupor Bowl, produced and directed by one of my best friends, a great artist, who also happens to own a framebuilding company called Freeman Transport. Nice work agent Freeman.
