Bike Frame Builders of Portland

Wend Magazine chats with four Portland bike frame builders. from Wend Magazine on Vimeo.

To say that Portland’s bike community is thriving is almost an understatement. In fact, in 2006, the Portland bike industry accounted for $63 million dollars. For local frame builders, being part of that industry is not only lucrative but a labor of love, which has made the local handmade bike community known around the country.

We took some time out during Wend’s recent benefit Ping Pong tourney to chat with four of Portland’s bike frame builders: Tony Pereira from Pereira Cycles, Natalie Ramsland from Sweetpea Bicycles, Sean Chaney from Vertigo Cycles and Ira Ryan from Ira Ryan Cycles. Special thanks to Miss Heidi Swift for rallying the troops and helping conduct the interviews.
