Crop circles are a freaky phenomenon that some blame on aliens while others claim is a human hoax. In the 2002 movie Signs, Joquine Phoenix and Mel Gibson learned the hard way that the crop circle in their farm was just one of many signs being posted around the planet by extraterrestrials en-route to attack. But Australia, which supplies about 50% of the world’s legally-grown opium used to make morphine and other painkillers, has found that another force is at work making crop circles – one we never imagined: stoned wallabies.

According to the BBC:

Australian wallabies are eating opium poppies and creating crop circles as they hop around “as high as a kite”, a government official has said.

Apparently wallabies, kangaroo-like animals, are getting into the poppy fields after harvesting, getting high from eating the crop, then running around in circles, creating strange designs.
