A Berlin brothel has found a way to attract more customers and help the environment by offering discounts for customers that arrive by bike.  Patrons of the Maison d’Envie brothel receive a five euro discount if they can show they arrived by bike or public transportation.

Brothel owner Thomas Goetz told Reuters he was seeing between three and five customers a day take advantage of the offer, not surprising for a city where bikes account for 12 percent of total street traffic.  Parking and neighborhood traffic congestion has also been improved by encouraging brothel-goers to arrive by bike.

“Obviously we hope that the discount will attract more people,” said Goetz, whose business has been hit hard by the economic recession. “It’s good for business, it’s good for the environment — and it’s good for the girls.”
