My favorite place for a fall hike is Franconia Notch, NH. I have been hiking there since I was a child. The sights and smells during the fall bring back such great memories.

My favorite hike is at Smith Rock in central Oregon. This is especially perfect when you’ve already climbed a full weekend. You can get to the top and appreciate your hard work.

The Ozarks in Arkansas are about a month from being spectacular with leaves changing colors and temps in the 70s. Lake Fort Smith State Park and Devil’s Den State Park have lots of great short hikes.

Mt. Megunticook, just outside of Camden, ME. I know everyone says this, but the foliage here in fall is EXTRAORDINARY. Fire on the mountain.

Also, I’m biased, because my wife and I were married on Megunticook. :)

I really should appreciate my own Hoosier hills more, but I can’t deny the best place to hike in the fall would be Kashmir. Sounds scary, but it shouldn’t. It should sound like heaven. Thanks for all you do, Wend! From @nomadderwhere

If you have a weekend: Goat Rocks Wilderness area SW Washington, if you just have an hour or two, Catherine Creek gets great late day sunshine

There is no better place to hike than the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in SW Oklahoma near Lawton/Ft. Sill… seriously!
