Pilots brawling with crew members ranks somewhere near snakes, bombs, and this lady on my list of things I never, ever want to see on an airplane while flying over Pakistan – or anywhere else for that matter. I suppose then I should be glad that I wasn’t one of the 106 passengers on Air India flight IC-884 Sunday.

Not much has come out about the incident, but this much is known for sure: on Sunday morning, somewhere over Pakistan, two pilots and several crew members of Air India flight IC-884 became involved in a mid-air brouhaha.

According to reports, a stewardess was allegedly abused and pushed in the cockpit after refusing to grant the pilots “personal favors”. After witnessing the debacle a crew member intervened, punches were thrown and, eventually, the plane landed safely. 2748909656_e7113c7772

According to Air India, “As there have been claims and counter-claims between the parties involved, the management has ordered an inquiry, which is still in progress. Further action will be decided based on the inquiry report.”

The pilots claim that the male crew member who intervened on behalf of the stewardess “started the incident with misconduct that threatened the safety of the 106 passengers and seven crew.”

The stewardess claims she was “abused, manhandled and assaulted in an undignified way” by the pilots.

Delhi police were quoted as saying that the woman had sustained bruises and hand injuries.
