Sports are changing as rapidly as they have in decades. Athletes are increasingly comfortable doing adventure races like Primal Quest but also competes in more traditional sporting activities. Today’s great athletes combine all sorts of skills. Their fitness regimens are fine tuned. They are technologically savvy.
In this modern age of sports, questions persist about what makes the greatest athletes in the world.
The first ever “Search for the Ultimate Athlete,” competition will answer that question. The competition will feature the world’s best athletes, competing in sports and disciplines, including kayaking, snowboarding and skateboarding. Men and women will compete head to head. In the end, one athlete will remain.
Registration will open in the coming weeks. In June, 2010, the athletes will gather in Portland for six days of competition.
Nowhere is there a place that is better suited for an ultimate athlete competition than Oregon.
In Oregon, you can spend your morning skiing in the mountains and by the afternoon surfing in the Pacific Ocean.
The conditions are ideal. Oregon is the perfect place to put the question to the test: Who is the ultimate athlete?
Search For The Ultimate Athlete: Are you the one?

Oh good one! I am a former athlete (competitive swimmer) and I am really missing the racing, the being in shape, the enjoyment that comes with being an athlete. I tried jogging last week but felt so sore that I had to give it up until my heating pad and Topricin pain cream made me feel better. During my “recovery” I have been trying to read more on athletes to find some inspiration…so thanks :)
