As of today, a report coming from The British Royal Navy states that Paul and Rachel Chandler’s 38-foot sloop, the Lynn Rival has been found adrift. The two sailors last transmitted a distress call off the coast of East Africa from a position within striking distance of a Somali pirate stronghold. A distress call came last friday. The couple was en route from The Seychelles to Tanzania and they are believed to have been captured by pirates for ransom, though no demands have been made yet. Typically, Somali pirates do not make ransom demands until they reach shore. The abandoned vessel was spotted towing a pirate skiff. The seafarers had kept a blog of their journey, and thus, friends and family were quick to notice something had gone awry. Click on the report below from the AP for more info.
