I'm with Big Wave Dave, there's many names for this wave and it helps us keep it a little mysterious, like we like it in Oregon. Secondly, it would have been more accurate for me to say "first 'regularly' surfed in 2006..." I've heard quite a few historical accounts of the pioneers of this wave and I'm going to comment to that extent. All 3 Skriver brothers reportedly paddled this slab in the 70s (I've yet to get a straight story on this, so I need to chat with Jack).
