November is a month of change. The leaves have fallen and winter is just around the corner. It’s a month where outdoors enthusiasts find themselves staring at the sky, waiting for the telltale signs that signal the beginning of the next season of adventure. That’s why we chose ‘First Snow’ as November’s Friday Photo theme.
Our final winner for the month, Lee Dexheimer, captured this shot of ‘first snow’ while on a fly fishing trip near Cast Lake in the Oregon Cascades.
Here’s what he had to say about the event:
The first dusting of November snow on the trail to Cast Lake. At first the snow looked like crazy, bright sun beams hitting the forest floor as we ascended the steep ridge. As we approached we realized that our two nights at the lake might be a bit more chilly that we anticipated. The lake froze in a thin skin both nights, which made some waiting and added challenges for our morning fly fishing ambitions. However, its always nice to wake to a light dusting of snow on our tents.
Congratulations Lee, you win a Synchronicity Jacket and a pair of Typhon gloves from Mountain Hardwear.
