Parakeets to be Shot in Suburban Britain

Parakeet

Polly want a cracker? Only if it’s laced with poison. Ring-necked parakeets in suburban Britain will soon join the ranks of wild boar, jackdaws, crows, and magpies on the list of pests the public may kill on their property without a license. The invasive birds are responsible for the ruin of fruit crops and for threatening nuthatch, kestrel, and tawny and sterling owl populations. Though, as the Times reports, some residents just have a problem with the squawking.
