Do you remember way back when in the olden days when there was a show on ABC called Wide World Of Sports. It had a catchy tagline: The Thrill of Victory, and The Agony Of Defeat. Well, do you remember the agony of defeat guy? The ski jumper who eats it big time? He’s a Slovene ski jumper named Vinko Bogataj. Mr. Bogataj’s big air luck ran out at the World Ski Flying Championships in 1970 where that clip was taken, and he’s been forever immortalized as an icon of failure.
