The lead vocalists, Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim (lead guitar and bass guitar), sway their harmonies together to reenact the most intimate of moments, while Baria Qureshi (keyboards and guitar) and Jamie Smith (beats, MPC sampler) mesh in the interchange . The musical harmonies are unique and deeply soulful, and the beats recall times of darkness and the search for hopeful remedies to a binding love story.

2. Vampire Weekend:
By combining African beats with smooth rhythms (think Paul Simon here), the four friends have created sounds that have garnered acclaim from publications such as The New York Times as well as Rolling Stone. Now, Vampire Weekend is preparing for the 2010 release of its new album, Contra, which is likely to impress followers and critics alike. 3. Volifonix:
Hailing from Eugene, Oregon, the five members of Volifonix have developed a deep relationship with the rugged Oregon coast. In January 2009, the band loaded up and moved to Newport where they set up a studio in a beach house and recorded their debut album, Oregonisms. Their combination of twangy guitar leads, high vocals, crunchy bass lines and smooth saxophone creates a psychedelic funk-rock flavored milk shake that you can’t help but dance to.
