Remember Aron Ralson, the hiker who amputated his arm with a pocket knife after becoming trapped by a boulder in the Utah Mountains? Well, it was only a matter of time until Hollywood got its hands on this golden nugget of a story.
Beginning in March, director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting) will begin shooting the film, 127 Hours, with actor James Franco playing Ralston. Franco, whose previous roles typically involve being stoned, will have to dig deep to pull off the self amputation, but if done correctly, he could be sitting on a pile of Oscars.
