Meet Lily, the first American black bear to have a webcam installed inside of her den during hibernation.
Researchers installed the “den cam” earlier this month in order to keep an eye on the pregnant 3 year-old during the winter months. They’re hoping that the birth of her cubs will be captured on the live video feed.
The footage will be part of a new wildlife series about biologists who do hands-on research with bears (let’s just hope it doesn’t get Timothy Treadwell on us). Until then, you can watch the live camera feed on Wild Earth‘s website and even become a fan of Lily on Facebook.
