Fanny Packs ‘Round the World

Since the dawn of man, humans, especially those of the nomadic variety, have been seeking and developing innovative ways to easily carry personal items in a fashionable manner. Thus, the fanny pack spit in the eye of all other modes of baggage, and quickly rose to the top of tourist necessities in a flame of infamy.

With the simple snap of a buckle, important items hang securely from the waist rather than burdening shoulders with the weight of the world. Not only are fanny packs both fashionable and functional, they also provide a degree of unmatched toughness. Hulk Hogan wears one, need one say more?

So whether you wear your European Hip Bag to the front, back or side, strap it on, zip it tight and enjoy a visual journey of Fanny Packs ‘Round the World.

If you like our Round the World series, you might enjoy some of the previous themes: jesus, swimming, sweaters, mustaches, stairs, chess, foods, silhouettes, outhouses, cemeteries and donkeys.

  1. Just a word of caution here. A “fanny pack” is not what you would want to call this if you were in the UK. “Fanny” refers to something uniquely feminine and if you add “pack”, well, you get the idea. They call it a “bum bag”.

Thanks Darrin! I was not aware of the name “bum bag,” and I like it better than fanny pack.
