Remember when Olympic organizers in Vancouver, British Columbia closed Cypress Mountain early this year in order to preserve snow for the 2010 Winter games? Well it looks like that might not have been enough.

Skinet.com is reporting that conditions at the resort are now so grim that dump trucks have been employed to haul more than 300 truckloads of snow from a neighboring mountain.

Despite a lack of natural snow, Cypress Mountain is still set to host the Olympic snowboarding and freestyle events starting February 13th. But in order to conserve the white gold, halfpipes and other course features will be built using 1,065 bales of straw instead of just snow.

According to David Jones, meteorologist at Canada’s National Weather Service, this has been the warmest Vancouver winter on record since 1937.
