Friday Photo: Rebel Snow Dog Gets Her Licks

There are three dogs who spend their days lazying around Wend HQ. For the most part they just do regular dog stuff like chewing bones and chasing one another other around; but they are also accomplished sleepers, professional thieves, and aficionados of licking; they are barking enthusiast and masters of doe-eyed beggery who never miss an opportunity to let you know that they are near. In other words our office dogs are basically responsible for creating the sort of havoc-filled ambiance necessary to put out a magazine like Wend.

But being a Wend dog, just like being a Wend employee, means you don’t spend all your time in the office. Our four-legged colleagues like to get outdoors and play in the snow just as much as we do, which is why it seemed only natural to dub the Friday Photo theme for February ‘Snow Dog.’

Our first winner’s owner this month is Timmy Crawford, who submitted the above photo of one of his dogs, Sierra, on top of Tumalo Mountain outside of Bend, Oregon.

Here’s what Timmy had to say about the event:

Sierra was a rebel by even being out on the mountain (non-working puppies are not allowed by the Forest Service) but she wanted to work for her turns that day too.  I was playing with my new G11 and didn’t realize I had caught her mid-lick until I got home.  We were sharing a Clif bar on top prior to skiing back to the truck.  The snow was great… about 8″ of fluff, and Sierra stuck to the skin track on the way down to keep her speed up. Good times!

Congratulations Sierra, you win a Sub-Woofer doggie soft-shell activity jacket from D-fa.
