It’s been a tough week for famous people to be on airplanes. First director Kevin Smith was ejected from his Southwest Airlines flight for allegedly being too overweight for his seat, and then former GOP presidential candidate and good hair haver Mitt Romney was allegedly attacked on his flight back to the US after attending the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Romney and his wife Ann were for some inexplicable reason flying economy class to Los Angeles after attending the Winter Olympics in Vancouver when Romney, always a stickler for the rules, demanded the man seated in front of his wife to move his seat upright before takeoff. According to Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom, the man then became “physically violent”.

“Gov. Romney did not retaliate but instead let the airline crew respond to the incident,” Fehrnstrom said.

Pilots steered the flight back into the gate and the alleged attacker was taken into custody and later released to return home on another flight.

Romney declined to press charges.
