The Olympic Games, other than being a venue for athletic awe, is also a veritable playground of young, healthy people who want to do more than just compete. Vancouver health officials are obviously aware of the potential for some “sexual healing” after a long day of intense competition, which is why they’ve provided Olympic Village residents with 100,000 free condoms. Canadian skier Emily Brydon says, “There’s a lot of stress pent up over the week, so it’s safe to say that some good times happen.” And former Olympic snowboarder Crispin Liscombshe believes that of the 100,000 condoms distributed, few will be left over.
