Mount Orford ski resort in Quebec is for sale, for just $1 dollar up front. OK, the $1 dollar may just be a symbolic down payment, as the potential buyer must be able to put a $4 million dollar deposit to back up his purchase. In addition, he must be able to commit to running the ski resort (and the attached golf course) for at least five years.
With a $4 million dollar deposit, one would think Mount Orford would become the owner’s sole property, but according to the deal, and Environment Minister Line Beauchamp, “the 459 hectares of land encompassing the ski centre and golf course will be formally integrated into Mount Orford provincial park and remain the property of the Quebec government.”
