This week’s Friday Photo winner is Amanda Ann Rohde, who submitted this breathtaking photo, taken in Yellowstone National Park.
Here’s what Amanda had to say about the shot:
This photo was taken during a trip a close friend of mine and I took May 2008. We drove from Wisconsin to Montana, making sure to take the long way so we could spend some time in Yellowstone. The park was just beginning to thaw for the season, there were heavy thunderstorms at times and what seemed to be no one around us – it was peaceful and magnificent. This shot was taken over an area of the park that was devastated by the 1988 Yellowstone fires. I went to take a picture of the storm that was on the horizon, when the sun decided to make an entrance instead, leaving me with this wonderful picture.
Congratulations Amanda, you win a pair of ExOfficio travel underwear, as well as a pair of Chaco sandals. In addition, Chaco will donate a tree in your name through the Arbor Day Foundation!
