Stand Up Paddle Boards and pooches go hand in hand at the SUP for a PUP fundraiser, being held this year on May 1st from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone who attends the event in Newport Beach, California can not only adopt a dog of their own, but also check out some awesome SUPs, as well as surf apparel and sunglasses. The event will raise awareness about the large number of dogs currently housed in kill shelters, as well as raise money for the local non-profit, no-kill shelter A Wish for Animals.
SUP for a PUP began last year by Kaenon Polarized Sports Marketing Director Chris Wyman. Together with Kaenon Polarized and his friends in the SUP industry, Wyman was able to create a charity event that blends his passion for dogs and the local surf community together.
Wyman had this to say about SUP for a PUP:
“At this event you can get great deals on samples, adopt a dog and get great food all at the same time. We will have an assortment of products from (Stand Up Paddle Boards, Sunglasses, Surf Apparel and more) from brands including; Kaenon, Surftech, Olukai, Hinano, Quickblade and many others. A portion of each sale goes to the non-profit, A Wish for Animals, a charity that rescues dogs in need, from the streets to high kill shelters. A Wish for Animals provides temporary housing, medical needs and lots of love until they find their forever home.”
