Last week, the United States mint issued the first quarter in a series that will honor national parks. The “America the Beautiful” program is a 12-year series that will recognize 56 national parks in each of the 50 states. The first coin, released Tuesday, April 20th, shows Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas.
Other national parks that will appear on quarters in the next few months include: Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming (June), Yosemite National Park in California (July), Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona (September) and Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon (November).
