After competing in the time-trials held last weekend at Wasau’s whitewater park, 16-year-old Hailey Thompson of Stevens Point, Wisc. is one of the newest members of the U.S. National Team for canoeing and kayaking.
Thompson’s incredible canoeing skills gave her a first place win in the women’s senior canoe competition, making her the top female canoer in the country. Along with granting her awesome boasting rights, Thompson’s new position means she will be competing in the Senior World Cup in Europe this summer.
In addition, Thompson qualified for the U.S. Women’s junior kayaking team. She will be competing in the junior world kayaking championships—located in France—in three months.
