A “frivolous dream” became a delightful reality when three friends from London made the first-ever crossing of the Riva Del Garda in Italy by a giant red and yellow inflatable castle. “Great Britain has such a great tradition as a seafaring nation and we really feel we have played no role at all in adding to this. That said it was possibly the most fun we have ever had…” said Chris Hall, the group’s leader.

The trio, who “set sail” with a combination of wind and paddles, did so as a part of the Live Every Litre project by Honda, a documentary film in which members of the public are nominated by the project’s online community to realize their dream. But in realizing their dream to sail the blow-up castle, the group of three also, despite being escorted by the Italian Police, managed to run directly into an international sailing regatta. Not sure that was part of their plan, but it certainly added to the element of excitement.
