On June 19, 2010, bicyclists will have the opportunity to experience the landscape of Silverton, Oregon as they pedal along the the quiet route of the Petal Pedal bicycle tour. The event will take cyclists on a tour of the Willamette Valley while supporting Oregon’s premier public garden, The Oregon Garden. The garden boasts more than 80 acres of impressive flora along with a water garden, home garden and train garden, and is both the beginning and ending destination to the tour.
The three distance options–30, 60 and 90 miles–give participants the opportunity to enjoy a mellow ride or to challenge themselves with hills and optional scenic loops. Rest stops are even catered with treats, and breakfast, lunch and a gourmet outdoor bar-b-que are included with the ride admission. Live music will also accompany the event.
Enjoy this full day of cycling through Silverton, accompanied by live music, gourmet food and admission to The Oregon Garden with guided tours. Unfortunately the ride is limited to 2,000 participants, so advance registration is encouraged.
