Wend readers are adventurous spirits who often travel great distances to satisfy their wanderlust. And sometimes they even take us along with them. This afternoon we received an email from Wend reader and one-time Friday photo winner Jennifer Levo, who sported an Ibex Wend beanie while climbing the ash-covered Sólheimajökull Glacier in Iceland. Like many of our readers who live near the Portland area, it looks like Jenn is planning on attending the launch party for our new issue this weekend.

Here’s what she had to say:

Last week I was in Iceland and I repped your cozy WEND ibex hat at the Sólheimajökull Glacier. It was a fun climb but sadly, the whole glacier was covered in ash from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano and a massive wind storm was blowing ash everywhere, resulting in almost zero visibility. I’m still trying to get ash out of my shoes. :)

Take care and see ya’ll on Saturday!

-Jenn Levo

Nice work Wending your way all the way to Iceland, Jennifer! We’ll see you this weekend.

so, where do we get a beanie? I could take that thing on trips, I could! You say you want it in Chile? Well that could easily be arranged! Looks like it would fit comfortably under my helmet for cold weather cycling. Promise to take off the helmet for the photo op.

Also, wow on climbing a glacier covered in ash. How many times do you get to do that in a lifetime! Good on Jennifer!
