This week Montana Mining Corp. announced it would acquire Park Capital Management, Inc. (Park), a private company that intends to develop a mountain biking resort in the Dominican Republic. Park’s goal is to design, construct and operate ParkVida, a premiere destination resort designed for mountain biking of all disciplines.
Nestled between lush mountains, running along green valleys and encompassing alpine forests in the heart of the Dominican Republic, the 700-acre resort will offer a biking experience that includes gorgeous vistas, handcrafted single-track trails, burms, tabletops, hipturns, ladderdrops, beautiful transitions, feature and skills parks and dirt jumps. A “six star” resort brings the rural flavor off the beaten path for relaxation after a challenging day of biking.
ParkVida is expected to be open for its first season by October 31, 2011.

I live in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic and am wondering if anyone knows the location of this park?? I have been trying to find out since the story first came out. It would be a perfect fit for this area as we have white water rafting, Gold panning, Horseback riding, hiking and many other outdoor activities here.
Something about this sounds a little fishy to us. First: there is no website for ParkVida despite being planned for 6 years now and opening in about a year (not even a one-screen, coming soon promo). Second: This is a mining company buying a company that owns 700 acres of raw land that could (potentially) hold valuable minerals. What does a mining company know about building/managing a “6-star” resort anyway?
