We’re on to you, Wend readers. We know your type. You spend your summer weekends frolicking in the wilderness, your weekdays riding your bike to work in your Chaco sandals. You support local non-profits religiously, and smirk as you buy (only) independent media.
Good.
All snarkiness aside, we (here at Wend HQ) love our readers, regardless of their frolicking preferences, general modes of transportation or footwear decisions. And, of course, we love the support they give us because without it, independent media sources such as Wend simply wouldn’t exist. This is something we have in common with non-profit organizations, who also depend on the support of people, which is why we like to work with them whenever we can. That’s also why for the entire month of August, Wend and Leave No Trace have partnered together to provide a month-long subscription drive, during which $5 dollars of every full price Wend subscription will go directly to Leave No Trace (learn more about the non profit here). But the fun doesn’t end there.
In appreciation for our supporters, we’re also running four captions contests (every week in August) for our readers to participate in. Each Tuesday, starting August 3rd, we’ll post a funky photo and leave the comments section open to our readers. Every subsequent Tuesday we’ll post a new photo and announce last week’s winner. Of course, we wouldn’t run a contest without offering a nice schwag bag; Four lucky (think: clever) winners will receive the following prizes: a pair of their very own Chaco sandals; a pair of Smartwool socks (not to be worn with said Chacos) and a base layer from Smartwool; as well a Base Camp Duffel bag from The North Face; and a Planet Explore reusable water bottle and seed card.
