On this beautiful Monday, if you happen to be wending your way through the site and happen upon our most current Music Monday choice, you’ll find yourself listening intently to a song (“Wilderness”) from Active Child’s newest album, Curtis Lane. In doing so, you just might feel your mind transferring your body from your overly air-conditioned office and overly-padded swivel chair to an incense-infused wood-paneled yoga studio with dim lights.
That’s what’s so great about Active Child–the band’s ability to create music so intense and gravitational that it moves you to another place. Forgive the cliché, but Active Child’s tunes have the tendency to truly take you away. What’s more, the way in which the music does so subtle… done with limited, oft repeated, calm and quiet lyrics and a continually undulating electronic beat.
Listen. Enjoy.
