KEEN loyalists and fanatics, it’s time to put your Newport’s on; KEEN has just opened its first retail store in Northwest Portland. The store, named the KEEN Garage, will feature a broad range of product for purchase, including men’s, women’s, and children’s shoes, socks, and bags. But it will also serve as a hub for those who live the HybridLife, and a place where the brand itself can connect with its consumers. As a shopping locale, the KEEN Garage will inspire anyone who enters to get out and hike, run or explore. As KEEN CEO James Curleigh puts it, “The Garage blends our obsession with innovation, passion for play, and commitment to community. It extends the energy of our headquarters to consumers and is a place where KEEN fans can experience HybridLife.”
The Garage is located just below KEEN’s company headquarters on 926 NW 13th avenue. So if you live in or around the Portland area, be sure to stop in between this Friday, August 20th, and next Thursday, August 26th for the Garage’s Grand Opening week, during which KEEN will match each pair of shoes purchased there with a backpack filled with school supplies, to be donated to Schoolhouse Supplies to help Portland area children in need of educational tools. Grand Opening week will also feature special offers, as well as the Wheel of KEEN (spin it to get free shoes, socks, bags, or donations for local non-profits), and a grand finale on the 26th–complete with a street party celebration with the Elements Tour, tours of Baby the truck, and live music from 5 to 9 p.m.
