Music Monday: Chancha Via Circuito

Río Arriba is Latin club music rooted in traditional Argentine rhythm and beats. It is the melding together of urban electronica and Argentine folkloristic music. It is the work of artist Chancha Via Circuito, who comes from a town outside of Buenos Aires and produces music unlike that of anything we’ve heard.

Río Arriba is Chancha’s second album to date, though he’s been playing for night owls at clubs across the world, DJing in Buenos Aires, the U.S., Canada and Mexico. He’s perhaps best known for his ability to remix basic, traditional rhythmic tunes into new age tracks.

In the case of Chancha, and his second album, which will officially release on CD March 29th, you have to hear it to believe it. So, preview each track from Río Arrriba here.
