Spring is just around the corner, and clothing companies’ new lines are quickly hitting the markets. In the realm of sustainable design, Horny Toad, a brand well known for its commitment to responsible choices from its clothing design to business partners, is introducing yet another sustainable material to its repertoire: Dri-Pulse.
Made using 85% recycled polyester and 15% organic cotton, the patented polyester fabric is used in some of Horny Toad’s more performance garments, providing the characteristics associated with a traditional synthetic, like wicking, quick drying, and odor control. “For us, it was combining the best of made-made and natural fibers to give this fabric the best possible look, feel and performance properties,” says Kate Larramendy-Wright, Horny Toad’s Creative and Brand Director.
Besides giving Horny Toad a new fabric to work with, Dri-Pulse also re-emphasizes the company’s commitment to sustainability. According to Larramendy-Wright:
Horny Toad is excited about this fabric because we’re committed to constant improvement and to making Horny Toad’s products and practices increasingly sustainable. We know the choices we make are as important as the clothes we create. We try each day to lighten our environmental footprint, be good partners in all of our relationships, pay attention and stay active in our communities and support organizations that improve our world – the source of our daily adventures.
Beyond Dri-Pulse, Horny Toad has expanded the Spring 09 collection to include 68 sustainable styles in the line. You can check out the full line starting February 17 on the Horny Toad website.
