It’s not news that we here at Wend hate, hate, hate disposable plastic bottles. Don’t get us wrong, there are some places in the world where potable water is only accessible in plastic bottles, but here in the developed world there really is no excuse for buying a single-use bottle when tap water is just as delicious (and free!). Plus when you start to consider all the health hazards — think BPA — you’ll never reach for a plastic bottle again.
Laken feels the same way, and not only does the Spanish-based company make certified BPA- free, reusable and recyclable bottles, they recently announced a cool program to work with several different non-profits in order to give back to the community. Partnering with artists to design the graphics on limited edition bottles, 2% of the bottle sales will be donated to a charitable organization of the artist’s choice. The designs reflect the organizations’ cause. Laken will be working with Living Water International, Bozeman Bike Kitchen, Greater Yellowstone Coalition and World Trout. That’s worth raising our bottles to!
