Typically, September 1st marks a bad day for dolphins in Taiji, Japan. The annual dolphin slaughter which is the subject of the award winning documentary, The Cove, has recently come to the forefront of international fury in the media. Reports coming from the ground in Taiji are that there are no boats out, and the slaughter appears to be suspended. Click here for more detailed reports coming out of Japan today.
