In the search for environmentally safe pesticides, one giant creepy-crawler might be the key scientists have been looking for. According to Professor Michael Gurevitz of Tel Aviv University, the scorpion, which has a veritable cocktail of poisonous toxins in its venom, also has specific toxins that are dangerous only to insects. Gurevitz is working to isolate these toxins in order to create a pesticide that would ward off insects without being harmful to humans and other mammals. To read the entire article, go here.
