I wouldn’t exactly recommend trying this at home… But it’s certainly an idea worthy of recognition — Imagine going for a ride and mowing the lawn at the same time! Most people don’t even use hand-powered lawn mowers anymore because the alternative (motor-powered) is easier, although arguably less green. So if you’re a gas-guzzling-lawn-mower-user, and you don’t have the welding skills to personally devise a pedal-powered-mower, then you might want to consider offsetting your carbon emissions by volunteering for a program that helps people to (safely) construct bike-powered machines for others to use.
